Chakras
The Gateways to consciousness
Chakra is a Sanskrit word that means "wheel of light". There are 7 main chakras along the Hara line (from the top of the head to the base of the spine and genitals). Each chakra appears as lotus-like vortices that spin and radiate light. The chakras provide gateways for a person's spirit and soul to communicate with cosmic energies. Carl Jung referred to chakras as the gateways of consciousness. Each chakra is associated with a body part and/or endocrine gland, colour, level of personal development, sacramental association, physical and emotional functions and dysfunctions, yoga posture, musical note/tone/mantra, gemstone, crystals, fragrances/essential oils, zodiac and planet.
