The Muladhara (root or support) has four petals, a square, a triangle inside the square pointing downward; some versions depict a symbol of the Goddess Kundalini - a coiled snake wrapped around a phallus representing male sexuality. Main issues: survival, physical needs. Colour: red Seed sound: Lam Vowel sound: Oh Note sound: C Location: base of spine between anus and genitals Associated body parts: dense solid parts of the body: bones, teeth, nails, legs, arms, intestines anus, prostate, adrenals. Purpose: basic issues for the consciousness of this chakra are concerned with the physical world, physical needs, concept of being, self expression, ambition, consistency, desire for security, survival of self and species, connection with tribe.
